WHAT IS TELETHERAPY?
Teletherapy is simply professional psychotherapy counseling provided remotely over a free, convenient, private, secure, easy-to-use video teleconferencing platform.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You will be able to connect with me over a HIPAA-compliant platform by clicking on the link I send you by e-mail at your scheduled appointment time. You do NOT need to download a program or an app, you do not need to register on any website to connect with me safely over this telehealth platform.
WHAT TECHNOLOGY DO I NEED?
Teletherapy requires using a computer or a device (with working microphone and camera) that can access the internet. Locating yourself somewhere with a strong internet signal provides a much better interactive experience. Although it is possible to use a smart phone or tablet, the best connections seem to occur when you connect from a computer using a browser such as Chrome.
The same fees and policies that apply to in-person Psychotherapy also apply to Teletherapy. I am a provider for BlueCross BlueShield PPO. Please contact me for more information, or call your insurance company for updated information regarding Teletherapy coverage during and beyond the declared National Emergency. At this time, most BCBS plans are covering Teletherapy in the same way that in-person sessions were previously covered.
Zelle/Quick Pay electronic payments are preferred for Teletherapy sessions (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles and self-pay) but other traditional forms of payment can also be arranged.
